"Team Brave" is a Community Reintegration Program partnered through Shriners Hospital for Children Boston, and The Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation and is designed to "Engage, Encourage and Empower" young burn survivors. This therapeutic recreation program allows pediatric burn survivors to build supportive friendships with Boston Firefighters, empowering children to participate in fun activities, which addresses both psycho-social and physical challenges they will face upon their return to their homes, schools and lives. These relationships have clinical value and can profoundly improve the participating child's quality of life socially, psychologically, physically, and academically.
